This product can work very well for anyone who doesn't have an autoimmune or gut disorder. But there are some ingredients that are not tolerated with an Autoimmune Paleo (AIP) Diet. Anyone with an autoimmune or digestive disorder cannot tolerate barley grass or oat bran. Those are 2 huge “no-no’s” and can wreak havoc on already sensitive systems and cause bad flare-ups of all kinds of symptoms, thus setting us back. It’s very hard to find a greens powder these days that doesn’t have those ingredients – or soy or corn products. And ascorbic acid usually comes from corn (another common food allergen). There is a brand that makes a green powder that doesn’t use any of those ingredients, but amazon won’t let me list it in this review. It is my hope that Dr. Cabeca’s team will consider creating an allergy-free version of the Mighty Maca. It has some good stuff in it. Stevia can actually cause blood sugar issues in sensitive systems. So coconut sugar or date sugar would be best. Flax seeds cannot be tolerated either, but it is possible that they can be later reintroduced back into a diet if someone has been on the Autoimmune Paleo Diet for awhile and slowly and carefully reintroduced and tested. Maca itself is an immune stimulant, and is a “no-no” for autoimmune issues. But it can sometimes be tolerated by certain people. Some of these ingredients can be re-introduced after one has been on the AIP diet for awhile and does the slow, reintroductions. But the barley grass and oat bran are the worst, and usually can’t be tolerated very well by certain guts. So my hope is that an Allergen-Free version of this can be created. Meanwhile, I’ll simply throw some pure, plain organic maca powder in my smoothie.I tried a sample pack. Taste was pretty good (just don’t look at it lol)! I am definitely planning to buy the canister size after I discuss with my doctor, since I am bio-identical hormones already, I’m not sure how this will affect my levels. Looking forward to giving it a shot though! When Dr. Anna's site was temporarily out of this product, I was able to get a few of these individual stick packs (4 packs per envelope) to tide me over. I no longer drink any caffeine before 2 pm thanks to Mighty Maca Plus every morning. I highly recommend!Mighty Maca Plus is really great but it is way to expensive. It really works to help women with hormone problems. It just needs to have the price reduced some to make it good value. It is priced like it is a prescription drug.I have plenty of energy even though I am eating much less and don’t feel hungry. I highly recommend dr. Cabeca’s book as a companion to the product to understand how to help yourselfAfter four days...I felt a surge of energy coupled with a calmness. It's hard to explain...but what I wanted in my life was more energy and more serenity. Very helpful product. So simple to carry -- much healthier than sodas and no bottles or cans to dispose of -- good for you and good for the environment!I don’t think the 4 day free sample that they are selling on amazon for $12.95 is enough to see if it makes a difference, but because it’s so expensive, I doubt I’ll buy more.
